Description:
Crafted by calendering high-quality fiberglass fabric with high-purity silicone rubber on one or both sides, our calendered silicone fiberglass cloth features a dense, uniform coating that ensures strong adhesion between the silicone layer and the fiberglass base—eliminating peeling or shedding even under frequent expansion and contraction cycles of expansion joints. This unique manufacturing process endows the cloth with superior flexibility and dimensional stability, allowing it to perfectly adapt to the longitudinal and lateral displacements, angular deviations, and vibrations of expansion joints in pipelines, ducts, and industrial equipment, without cracking or losing sealing performance.

Key properties:
  • Exceptional Temperature Resistance: It maintains stable performance in a wide temperature range from -70℃ to 260℃ for long-term use, with short-term resistance to peak temperatures up to 550℃—effectively withstanding the extreme heat fluctuations that expansion joints in thermal power plants, cement plants, and chemical facilities often encounter. This ensures reliable operation even in high-temperature flue gas or steam pipeline expansion joints.
  • Superior Sealing, Acid Resistance, Chemical Resistance; : The heavy silicone rubber coating forms a tight, waterproof, and gas-tight barrier, preventing leakage of flue gas, steam, or corrosive media in expansion joints. It exhibits excellent acid resistance, capable of withstanding the erosion of acidic flue gas and chemical reagents commonly found in expansion joint working environments. Moreover, it has strong chemical resistance against various chemicals, oils, and ozone, as well as outstanding aging resistance that can resist long-term UV radiation, humidity, and temperature cycles—effectively avoiding brittleness, cracking, or performance degradation over time. These properties make it highly suitable for expansion joints in harsh extreme environments such as chemical plants, petroleum refineries, and waste incineration facilities.
  • High Flexibility & Durability: The combination of flexible silicone rubber and high-strength fiberglass base cloth ensures the cloth is soft yet tough, capable of withstanding repeated expansion and contraction of expansion joints without fatigue or damage. It has excellent tear and abrasion resistance, extending the service life of expansion joint systems to up to 10 years in outdoor or harsh industrial environments.
  • Easy Fabrication & Customization: It can be easily cut, sewn, and processed into various sizes and shapes to match different types of expansion joints, including fabric expansion joints, non-metallic compensators, and ductwork connectors. We offer customized solutions for thickness (0.6mm to 5mm), coating weight (500g/m² to 300g/m²), and single/double-sided calendering to meet the specific requirements of your expansion joint projects.

As the preferred material for expansion joint manufacturing, our calendered silicone fiberglass fabric is widely applied in key industries such as thermal power, petroleum, chemical, cement, steel, and metallurgy—effectively compensating for thermal expansion and contraction of pipelines, reducing vibration, and protecting equipment from damage. Compared with ordinary silicone-coated fiberglass cloth, our calendered version offers better coating uniformity, higher adhesion, and more stable performance, making it the ideal choice for high-demand expansion joint applications.
